What these sessions show
How do you safely work with an aggressive dog?
All right, so I'm going to suit up, at least partially, and I'm going to go get Reaper out and just walk him around a little bit here and see if we can get him comfortable with me.
What toy should I use to train my dog?
So we're getting him to play with me a little bit.
Should I let my dog sniff before training?
So, right now, Reaper's primary interest seems to be environmental exploration.
Does my dog actually know the command?
How do I train my dog without treats?
Is it worth training an aggressive dog?
What if correcting my dog doesn't work?
Should I stop my dog before he misbehaves?
We start to be able to trust Reaper instead of constantly having to micromanage Reaper because Reaper makes bad choices consistently.
What happens in a first dog training session?
Where should I train my dog?
So, not as much training ends up happening there.
How do I stop my dog reacting to other dogs?
It's just that reactivity that we have to get rid of.
How do I teach my dog to make better choices?
We start to be able to trust Reaper instead of constantly having to micromanage Reaper because Reaper makes bad choices consistently.
Why does my dog only listen when I'm pulling the leash?
When is it safe to let my dog off the leash?
Why won't my dog listen when he is scared?
What do I do right after correcting my dog?
How do I know if my dog is dangerous?
Yeah, cuz I wanted to I wanted to see how extreme it was inside.
The record
5 sessions, 3 hours of footage, 9,384 words of transcript.
Recognize your own dog in this?
Most people who call us have already been told their dog is a lost cause, or that they should manage it and hope. We train dogs in Angier, Raleigh and across the Triangle, and we take the serious aggression and reactivity cases that other programs turn down.
How it works: tell us what your dog is actually doing. We tell you honestly whether we can help, including when the answer is no. If we can, you leave with a plan and a start date.
What you get back is a dog whose world gets bigger instead of smaller.
