The finished client story
More freedom. The same enthusiastic dog.
Apollo’s enthusiasm became part of his training. His Angier K9 story follows purposeful play, useful recall, public outings, and an owner imagining more of everyday life with his dog beside him.
What these sessions show
What toy should I use to train my dog?
When you give him the toy, he'll pick it up.
When is it safe to let my dog off the leash?
Probably just going to toss this long line on him for the walk.
Why does my dog only listen when I'm pulling the leash?
So, that means I recalled him off the ball with zero negative reinforcement.
What happens in a first dog training session?
Does my dog actually know the command?
It's an important step because teaches them more about leash pressure and also teaches them that pulling is never allowed even if they really want to around some distractions.
How do I teach my dog to make better choices?
How many rules should my dog have?
Should I let my dog sniff before training?
Might let him sniff over here in the woods for a minute.
Should my dog heel for the whole walk?
Heel grinding is a good way to flatten a dog out and make them suck.
How can I tell what my dog is feeling?
What level should an e-collar be set to?
What is the difference between come and let's go?
How do you get a dog to listen without a leash?
The reason that you can't is just physics, because it stimulates the muscle.
Where should I train my dog?
How do I calm a stressed dog?
Those are kind of like the top three in my mind, right?
How do I train my dog to be off leash?
Why does my dog react to how I stand?
How does my dog know when he can stop?
How do I train my dog without treats?
The record
18 sessions, 8 hours of footage, 42,146 words of transcript.

Recognize your own dog in this?
Most people who call us have already been told their dog is a lost cause, or that they should manage it and hope. We train dogs in Angier, Raleigh and across the Triangle, and we take the serious aggression and reactivity cases that other programs turn down.
How it works: tell us what your dog is actually doing. We tell you honestly whether we can help, including when the answer is no. If we can, you leave with a plan and a start date.
What you get back is a dog whose world gets bigger instead of smaller.
