Optional sign-in saves notes, source bookmarks and reading progress to an account; guest notes and export remain available.
Why this approach
Manual file transfer is a poor primary experience; forcing sign-in before reading would add unnecessary friction. Offer sign-in when saving becomes useful, with separate optional topic-update emails. Private notebook text stays separate from marketing.
